Mariposa Resort - Placencia, Belize

The owners, Sharon and Bruce, are the nicest Canadians and they love overlanders!  This was our oasis from the dusty, bug bitten days days in the rest of Belize.  They have built a nice outdoor bathroom and had a beautiful spot for us to park our rig.  We spent a few days camping and a few days in a room here.  Upon request, they even made me the best vegetarian club sandwich that I have ever eaten.  Very accomodating and the pool is wonderful and right on the beach.

Backpackers Paradise - Sarteneja, Belize

Backpacker's Paradise in Belize was an oasis for us.  Some of the most beautiful water we have seen on the trip is in Sarteneja.  It seriously looked like a postcard.  From the campground it was a short walk each day to take a swim.  Natalie, the owner, is a house DJ and is very easy going.  She will help you out with whatever you need.

Mana Kai Campsite - San Ignacio, Belize

This was a great spot to stay if you want to do the ATM Cave Tours or just for a stop on the way to the Guatemalan border.  They have both tent and car camping, as well as air conditioned and non-air conditioned cabins.  Also they have a hammock room with an outdoor kitchen and refrigerator.
